Es fiel mir schwer, meine neuen Freunde zu verlassen. Ich hatte ne "Wahnsinns-Zeit".

It was difficult to leave my friends. I had an awesome time.

Wieder war das Wasser zu hoch. Erst am nächsten Tag fand ich einen Fischer, der mich auf die andere Seite brachte.

Again the water was too violent. On the next day, I found a fishermen, who was keen to bring me to the other side.

Die Dörfer dieser Region sind genial. Hübsch und geordnet zwischen dem Busch. Aus reinem Waldmaterial gebaut. Hier finde ich alles was ich brauche: Wasser, Essen und ein Platz zum Schlafen. Die Leute sind gastfreundlich, besorgt und spannend.

The villages of this region are awesome. They are nice and organised between the bush. Everything is built by things of the forest. I can find here everything I need: Accomodation, water and food. The people have a big hospitality, are concerned and fascinating.

Borneo und Sumatra war grossflächig abgeholzt. Da tut es weh, wenn man sieht, dass die Ölpalmindustrie hier auch schon Fuss gefasst hat.

The bush of Borneo and Sumatra is almost destroied. It concernes me to see the Oilpalmindustrie arriving in this country too.

In Angoram traf ich auf Jimmy. Der Mischling einer lokalen Frau und einem italienischen Krokodiljäger adoptierte mich für eine Woche. Ich ass Mummuts (Grosse Waldratten) und anderes was man auf dem Markt finden konnte. Links sieht man sein Guesthouse. Gerade neu gebaut.

I met Jimmy in Angoram. He is the son of a local woman and a italien crocodile hunter. I had a great time with his family and tried out a lot of new things like the mummut on the right. (a big forest rat) Left side is his guesthouse he just opened.

In Sepik gibts die Tradition, den Männern den Rücken aufzuschneiden nach bestimmten Mustern, sobald sie vom Jungen zum Mann übertreten. Die Narben ergeben gewisse Muster, oft die von Krokodilbissen.

Rechts traf ich einen Schweizer am 1. August. Die Möglichkeit ist gleich 0. Dementsprechend genossen wir das kühle Bier zusammen.

There are special traditions in the Sepik region to cut the back of boys when they become adult. The scars have often the shape of a crocodile bite. Right: I met a swiss guy on the swiss national day (1.8.) AMAZING: The possibility to find other travelers is small in PNG. But to meet a swiss one???

Jup, Ich habs nicht selber gefangen. hatte keinen Mumm dazu...

Jep, I didn't hunt it on my one. Hadn't enought courage...

Persönlich: Ich bin ein bisschen zu lansam unterwegs. Dafür sah ich viel und lernte neues kennen. Ich höhre aber jeden Tag schlechte Neuigkeiten. Junge besoffene Männer welche in den Städten kämpfen, vergewaltigen und töten. Zum Glück fand ich immer sichere Plätze. Die offiziellen Resorts sind unglaublich teuer.

Personal: I'm a little bit slow in the moment. But I've seen a lot and learnt new things. A bad thing, are the bad news I hear every day. Young drunken men go fighting, raping and killing in the cities. Luckily I always fount a safe place. The official Resorts are crazy expensive.
