Mitten in der Nacht kamen wir an und mussten zuerst in der Unterkunft des Fahrers bleiben. In der Nacht bunkern sich die Menschen hinter Zäunen und Stacheldrahtzäunen ein. Die Kriminalität ist spührbar. Nach 6 Uhr abends bleibt man Zuhause. Die grossen Städte PNG's sind ein junger Schmelzpunkt von 900 Kulturen und völlig überfordert damit. Ich fand tolle Gastgeber, welche mit aufpäppelten und halfen, dass die Entzündungen zurückgingen. Während dieser Zeit besuchte ich ein Fest in der Schule der Kinder. Dort wurden alle traditionellen Singsings aller Provinzen vorgestellt. Dieses Mal sah ich den schönen Teil der 900 Kulturen. Hammer!

We arrived in POM in the middle of the night and we had to stay in the accomodation of the driver. In the night the poeple stay at home and close the fences and barbwire behind. You can see and feel the criminality. After 6 pm nobody goes out anymore. The big cities are meltingpoint of 900 cultures and really overcharged with it. I was invited by a family. They were awesome and helped me to take a rest and get rid of the infections. In this time I visited the festival of a scool of the kids. They presented all the provinces and their traditional singsing: Amazing. This was a real highlight of my trip and the colourful part of the 900 cultures.

Am Ende dieses Festivals war ich Zeuge von direkter Polizeigewalt. Nicht das erste Mal.

Open letter (Report about Policeviolence)

In the end of this nice festival, I had to be witness of police violence. But thats not the first time.

Der Royal Papua Yacht Club war dann eine Enttäuschung. Obwohl ich es mehrmals versuchte, war es nicht möglich die Segler zu kontaktieren, ihnen zu schreiben oder eine Information zu hinterlegen, sogass Segler auf mich zukommen könnten. Ich wurde auch direkt angelogen. Es gäbe nur stationäre Boote im Hafen und keine Reisende. Später erfuhr ich, dass dies nicht stimmte und es tatsächlich Segler dort gegeben hätte. Zuerst wusste ich nicht wie weiter. Schlussendlich musste ich aufpassen auf meine VISA und entschied mich, mit Schiffen in Richtung Alotau aufzubrechen. Vielleicht schaffe ich es nach Indonesien zu kommen bevor das VISA abläuft... 

The Royal Papua Yacht Club was a disappointemend. I tried it different times to contact the sailors. But it was not possibel, to ask them, write them or leave a note, so they could contact me if they could need help. They directely lied to me, by telling me, there are no long distance traveler in the marina. Only stationary boats... Later I learned: there have been 3 yachts in the harbour in this very moment. In this moment  I didn't knew anymore where to go. Without flights its almost impossibel to go on from Port Moresby. In the end I decided, to try to go around PNG mainland by ships and ferries. 

Bye, bye Moresby.

Persönlich: Ich hatte Glück. Obwohl ich in Port Moresby fest hing, fand ich eine gute Familie,  welche um mich besorgt war. Wir waren nahe 8mile. Im Quartier 9mile gab es in dieser Zeit schwere Clan- Unruhen, von welchen ich nicht betroffen war.

Das Festival in der Schule war dann ein grosses Highlight für mich.

Personal: I had luck. Even if I had to stay a week in Pom, I found a nice family taking care of me. We have been on the 8 mile. At the 9 mile were riots one day, but I was not influenced by this at all.

In the end the festival at the Don Bosco scool was a real Highlight of my travelings...
