Akte Segler- stoppen (Sailor- hitchhiking)

Meine Erfahrungen sind gering. Doch nach meine ersten ''Lift'' auf einem Boot will ich ein paar Infos zum Besten geben, wie man auf ein Boot kommt. 

Die meisten dieser Infos haben sich  aus Diskussionen mit Seglern ergegeben.

My experience are very small. But after my first ride on a boat, I want to give here some Information how you get on board of a boat. 

The most of this things I heart from sailor and I write it down for others.

Segeln scheint eine eigene Welt zu sein. Es gibt viele hundert Menschen, vielleicht tausende, welche auf Booten leben, arbeiten und reisen.

Its a unique world, the world of the sailors. There are a lot of hundrets or thousands of people, living, working and traveling by boat.

Die Welt des Segeln auf der Welt und Geschichten von Gehörtem. Es gibt immer weider Segler, welche verschwinden. Oder solche die erstaunliches entdecken. Zum Beispiel wurde ein grosses Segelboot gefunden. Ohne Crew mitten auf dem Ocean. Man ging an Bord um mehr herauszufinden. Geld und Sachen waren noch da, aber keine Leute.

Am Wasser fand man schliesslich Kratzspuren. Auf Deck leere Champagnerflaschen. Anscheinend wurde eine wilde Party gefeiert. Die Leute sprangen freudig ins Meer. Alle. Aber niemand liess die Leiter hinunter. Die Besatzung ertrank.

The  world of sailing is often the world of stories too. Sometimes sailor just disappear... And sometimes sailor discover amazing things. Once a boat found a yacht in open water without anyone on board. They went to the boat to find out more. Money and things have still been there but no people.

Then they found outside some scratch traves on the level of the water. On deck have been some empty bottles of alcohol.

It seems they had a great party. And the people jumped into the water out of fun. But nobody put down the ladder. The crew drown.

Die allermeisten Segler gehen in Richtung Westen um die Welt. So gut wie niemand in Richtung Osten. Singapur (Hafen) Der beste Weg dazu ist der Kokosnussmilch Weg. link (engl)

Ich war überrascht wie viel Aufmerksamkeit die Segler den kleinen Dingen widmen. Falls man in einen Megasturm kommt, kann man einfach das beste geben um zu überleben. Aber anscheinend verschwinden die meisten Leute wegen doofen Fehlern. Die meisten Geschichten die ich hörte, war über das Dingi ( das Beiboot um an Land zu gehen) Eine kleine Geschichte erzählt man sich über zwei deutsche Segler. Nach ein paar Bier an der Strandbar wollten sie in der Nacht auf ihr Boot zurück. Nach einem kleinen Stück hatten sie Probleme mit dem kleinen Motor. Der Wind kam vom Land. Die zwei verschwanden im Dunkeln. Sie wurden mitten auf den Ocean hinausgeweht.

I was surprised, how the sailors often not only look about the big problems. If you are in a perfect storm, you can just do your best to survive. But most people disappear because of stupid things. The most stories I heart have been about the dinghy (The small boat to go on land) . One story was very simple. About two german sailor. They had some beer in the near beach bar. At night they wanted to go back to the boat not too fare from the beach. When they left the shore they had problem with their motor. The wind was blowing from land towarts sea. They just dissapeart in the dark. They were blown out into open ocean.

Vielleicht der beste Weg ist es, jeweils direkt mit Seglern zu sprechen. Diese wissen oft von anderen Leuten welche nach Crew suchen. Man spricht miteinander.

Doch das wichtigste ist eigendlich zu wissen WO dass man diese Segler antrifft und WANN. Es gibt für jedes Gebiet eine Wind und Wetter Saison.

Perhaps the best way is to speak directly to sailors. They often know about others seeking for crew. They speak with each other...

But the most importend thing is the when and where the sailors are. In every area there are saisons for wind and weather.

WO: Die besten Häfen sind die Eintrittshäfen. Boote müssen dorthin um die Dokumente und VISA's zu erhalten. Ein Beispiel von meiner Reise ist Joho Bahur für Malaysia, Port Moresby in Papua neuigini oder Kupang für Indonesia. Es gibt Reiseführer und Karten um dies herauszufinden.Andere Orte sind vielleicht wichtig, weil sie die Infrastruktur haben oder der letze Halt sind für eine längere Überfahrt (Pazifik oder Atlantik) Beispiel hierführ: Bali.

Where: The best harbours are the entry- ports.  Boats must go there to get their documents and VISA's. Some examples of my travelling: Joho Bahur in Malaysia, Port Moresby in Papua Neuigini or Kupang in Indonesia. There are guidebooks and maps for this. Other places are important, cos of their infrastructur or because its the last stopp bevor crossig open water (Pacific or Atlantic) Example: Bali.

WANN: Wohl das schwierigste herauszufinden. Oft gibt es organisierte Treffen während Saison ist. (www.sailindonesia.net/news/media.php) Beim Hin- oder Rückweg gibts oft ein Platz frei. Sonst musst du in Seglerforum nachfragen, wann man an welchem Ort die meisten Boote finden kann.

When:  Perhaps the most difficult to find out exatly. Sometimes there are organised meeting during the saisons: (www.sailindonesia.net/news/media.php). On the way there, or on the way back, are often some people looking for crew. But you can easely asking in internetforums about the best time to find boats at your places.

Dies ist eine neue Welt des Reisens welche vielen Seglern Jahrzehnte lang nicht langweilig wird. Ich kratze hier nur ein bisschen an der Oberfläche. Vielleicht kann ich ja mehr Informationen dazuschreiben wenn ich mehr weiss.

This is a new world of travelling and a lot of sailors never get bored of it. Even after a lot of years. I touch here just a little bit of the surface. '' to be added in the future''
