Mein Held: Nicolastoni.

My hero: Nicolastoni.

Ich gelangte zur Überzeugung, dass man ausser meinen Knochen, nicht viel wiedergefunden, hätte, wenn mich deser Mann nicht spontan begleitet hätte. Der Weg hat viele Abzweigungen und ist oft überwachsen. Was für tolle Menschen, einfach zu entscheiden mir zu helfen und mit Rückweg Wochenlang unterwegs zu sein,.... einfach so.

I'm sure, there wouldn't be a lot more then my bones in the bushe if he would not have decided to join me. The way has a lot of junction or is overgrown. What great people just to help me and (with the back- way) beeing weeks on the way.... just cos of nothing.

Imanangini- Manawani- Tapaue

(No shops, some quite clean rivers. A lot of the way is IN the rivers.)

Am nächsten Morgen in Imanangini war ich immernoch müde. Ich zog mir die vor Dreck strotzenden Hosen und die völlig nassen Schuhe aus und verdrückte meine Schüssel Kartoffeln ohne grossen Kommentar.

Ich erinnere mich an den 100 km Marsch im Militär. Der Grosse Unterschied ist, keine Infrastruktur und Essen bei dieser Wanderung zu haben. Die Herausforderung ist nicht primär die körperliche, aber die stehte Ungewissheit.

I was still tired on the next morning. I pull the dirty trousers and the wet shoes and eat my plate of potatoes without comments.

I thought about the 100 km marsh in the army service. The big difference here is not to have food and security all the time. The big challenge wasn't the corporal one, its the unsertainity... all the time.

Und jetzt probiere ich die Schuhe trocken zu behalten...

Schweine sind der Stolz des Dorfes. Rechts: Die ganze Natur lebt und stirbt sehr schnell. Ich sah tote Baumstämme, welche quasi direkt von den Wurzeln der anderen Bäume ''aufgefressen'' wurden.

Pigs are the proudness of the village. Right side: The whole nature lives and dies very fast. I've seen dead trees, beeing ''eaten up'' directely by the roots of other trees.

Das Ende für heute. Tapaue liegt gleich um die Ecke.

The end for today. Tapaue was just around the corner.

Seit einem Jahr existiert diese Siedlung von einem Haus inmitten des Urwalds. Wichtig für die ganze Region, ab jetzt muss man nicht mehr alleine im Bush übernachten.

Since about a year, this settlement of one house in the middle of the bush exists. Importand for the region. Now they can walk through the bush, without sleeping in the forest.

Persönlich: Ich habe mich mit dem Urwald abgefunden. Dass ich so nass bin, wie alles andere, ist nur fair. Ich stinke und bin dreckig, fühle mich aber besser als zuvor. Von hier nach Malalaua zu laufen wird etwa 5 Tage dauern. Aber irgendwie wirds schon gehen. Ich nehm starke Antibiotikas gegen die tropischen Entzündungen.

Personal: I made peace with the forest. Its just faire to be as wet and dirty as everything else here. I just feel better now. From here to Malalaua, it gonna take another 5 days of hiking. It gonna work out somehow. I take strong medicaments against the tropical infection.
