Bis zum Horizont und noch viel Weiter. Till the horizon an even much further.

Die Unglauchliche Vielfalt welche sich in Millionen von Jahren entwickelt hat, wurde in den letzten 40 Jahren durch nur eine Art ersetzt. Ölpalmen.

The incredible diversity of some millions of years, was replaced in the last 40 years by just one single tree. The oilpalm.

Wenn doch nur etwas daraus entstehen würde. Wenn das Geld bei den normalen Leute ankäme und das Gebiet entwickelt wird. Doch wegen der Korruption und der Gleichgültigkeit vieler, geschieht nichts. Der Fahrer musste die Polizei 11 Mal bestechen. Normalerweise bezahlt man, sodass erst keine Kontrolle stattfindet. Der Strassenzustand ist dabei miserabel. Ich habe einen Truck gesehen, welche 1.5m in einem gigantischen Schlagloch versoffen ist.

If at least something would happen out of it! If at least some money would arrive for the normal people and the region would developpe. But because of Corruption and phlegm of a lot of people, nothing gonna happen. My driver had to bribe 11 times on this road. Normaly they pay, for not beeing controlled. But the quality of the street was just awefull. I've seen a truck beeing drown 1.5 meters into a pothole.

Normalerweise nehme ich es positiv ,um was es auch immer geht, aber dieses Mal liess ich mich nicht einmal mehr vom Supertruckfahrer aufheitern.

Normally I always see the things in a possitiv way. Not this time. Not even the truckdriver could cheer me up.

Ich fühlte mich zum kotzen.

Das Couchsurfing Projekt hat mich dann wieder gerettet. Die Freundschaft und Gastfreundschaft war super. Ich konnte Pekan Baru also geniessen. Ich traf auf ein Paar das am Reisen war. Sie kommt von Thailand, er kommt von Österreich und sie waren nur wenig älter als ich. Ich erfuhr, dass sie nicht nach Österreich kommen kann, während er nicht in Thailand bleiben darf. Obwohl sie verheiratet sind. Als Konsequenz sind sie die Welt am bereisen, während sie darauf warten, dass entweder Thailand oder Österreich Langzeit VISA's ausstellt. Was Monate oder Jahre dauern kann.

The couchsurfing project saved me again. The friendship and hospitality was huge. So I enjoyed Pekan Baru in the end. I met a couple. She comes from Thailand, he comes from Austria. The had a strange situation. They were married, but Thailand doesn't give him a VISA while she can't stay longer then a tourist in Austria. As consequence, they travel the world, waiting for an answer for the application for a stay permit. It could take years...

Ich nahm mit den neuen Freunden eine Fähre nach Batam.

I took a ferry with my new friends to Batam.

Die Landschaft wurde aber nicht abwechslungsreicher...

The landscape didn't change a lot in this time.

Byebye Indonesia. 

Zum Schluss über Indonesien:

Dieses Land ist fantastisch, riesig, spannend und oft paradiesisch. Es ist aber auch ein Umweltsünder, ein Korruptionsweltmeister, und ein überbevölkertes Inselreich, voller hässlicher Städte. 

Ich kann nicht böse sein. Nie wurde ich schlecht behandelt, nie beraubt, bedroht oder vertrieben. Ich hatte eine Wahnsinnszeit und ich weiss, dass Indonesier eines der friedlichsten Völker sind auf Erden.

Trotzdem waren 6 Monate zu viel. Ich bin schlussendlich froh, wieder weg zu sein.

Conclusions about Indonesia:

This country is fantastic, huge, excitend and often a paradise. But it's a big polluter, a master in corruption, and a overpopulated archipelago full of ugly cities too.

But I can't be bad 'cos of this. I was never treated in a bad way. I was never robed, endangered or displaced. I had a amazing time with a lot of new friends and I know, the indonesians are one of the most peacefull people I evers met.

But 6 month are a long time, and I'm happy to get out there. Finally.
