Nach dem VISA- Kampf Larantukan nach Pulau Rote (Kupang1) begann ich sofort hinaus zu stöppeln. Unterwegs traf ich auf die einzigen ''rassigen'' Frauen in diesem Land. Die Tankstellenwärterinnen haben Pepp. Die wissen sich gegen all die Männer zu wehren. Auch sah ich, wiedermal, die Polizei bei ihrer Arbeit. Geld einsammeln.

After the VISA- fight Larantukan nach Pulau Rote (Kupang1) I started immediately to hitchhike out of town. On the way I've seen again the only hot- blooded woman in this country. The girls of the petrol station are classy. They know how to defend themself of all the guys. And I saw, again, the police during their work. To collect money.

Ich dachte schon, überhaupt keine Lifts zu bekommen, also plötzlich ein Lastwagen hielt. Die zwei Fahrer waren super angenehm. Und schlafen konnten wir nahe der Grenze bei ihnen zu Hause. Man beachte das Foto an der Wand.

Und so kamen wir schliesslich zur Grenze. Unterwegs waren die entgegenkommenden Lastwagen die wichtigste Informationsquelle über Gefahren, Polizei und Probleme.

Beim Ankommen beobachtete ich, wie die Berge brannten. - Rodungen sind nicht selten hier. Rechts traf ich auf einen Unternehmer, welcher hier schon seit Jahrzehnten aktiv ist.

On arrival I obsearved some mountains burning. Just normal here. On the right: I met a business man working here since a lot of years. It was interessting what he have seen during this time.

Spärliche Landschaft trifft auf wunderschönes Meer.Timor Leste ist bekannt für seine Taucherorte. Ausserdm ''wandern'' die Wale hier in der Nähe hindurch um in den indischen Ocean zu kommen.

Rare landscape meets wunderfull sea. Timor Leste is famous for its diving sites. And a lot of wales are going through here to reach the indian ocean.

Katolisch ist hier fast alles. Der Jesus wurde vom muslimischen Indonesien ans christliche Timor Leste geschenkt als Zeichen der Versöhnung. Rechts die Kathedrale.

Catholic is everything here. The Jesus was build as a gift from the muslim Indonesia to the christian Timor Leste as a sign of goodwill. Right side: The cathedral.

Ich fand einen guten Backpacker. Diese günstigste Unterkunft der Stadt kostet 12$ pro Nacht. Eine eigene Währung haben die Timoresen nicht, sie benutzen den US$.

Ich habe zuvor von einem Segler gehört, welcher unterwegs sei nach Australien und nach Crew sucht. Doch als ich ankam erfuhr ich: Er ist schon weg.

I found a good backpacker. The cheapest accomodation in the city is 12$ a night. A own currency doesn't exist. Everything is in US$.

I heart about a sailor going to Australia and seeking for crew. But when I arrived I fount out: He is gone already.

Persönlich: Ich bin nur hier für das VISA. Zwar hat das Land einiges Kulturelles zu bieten. Aber die Preise und die schlechten Strassen lähmen mich. Ich will einfach nach Papua jetzt.

Personal: I'm here only for the VISA. The country has a lot cultural to offer. But the prices and the bad streets are a good reason to stay in Dili. I just wanna go to Papua now...
